1. Field Structure & Materials (Engineering & Compliance)
Court Dimensions & Structure
· Standard Court Size: The net internal playing area is 20m × 10m (L × W). For actual site planning, a minimum footprint of 22m × 12m is highly recommended to accommodate structural pillars, spectator walkways, and safety zones.
· Boundary Glass Walls:
· Thickness Standard: Must use 10mm or 12mm Tempered Glass. For commercial clubs or high-frequency tournament venues, 12mm is strongly recommended for superior impact resistance and consistent ball rebound.
· Installation Specifications: High-elasticity laser gaskets and specialized fasteners must be used between glass panels. All glass edges must feature a polished C-edge (rounded edge) to prevent stress concentration and cracking.
· Metal Mesh Fence (Mesh Profile):
· Made of high-strength welded electro-galvanized wire mesh (typically 50mm × 50mm or 40mm × 40mm mesh size, steel wire diameter ≥ 4mm).
· Surface Treatment: Must undergo Hot-Dip Galvanizing + Electrostatic Powder Coating for ultimate rust and UV resistance, especially in coastal or humid regions.
· Anti-Seismic Structure: The frame must be engineered with wind-resistant pillars to ensure no permanent deformation occurs when players collide with the mesh.
Turf & Sub-base Engineering
· Artificial Turf (The Mainstream Choice):
· Material: Monofilament Polyethylene (PE) or Polypropylene (PP). Textured/Curly Grass is preferred for high-end courts as it locks the sand in place, preventing displacement and ensuring uniform ball speed.
· Infill Material: Quartz sand (silica sand) with a grain size controlled between 0.5–1.0mm (highly rounded to prevent tearing the turf fibers). The infill volume per square meter must be strictly managed-too much causes slipping; too little accelerates turf wear.
· Sub-base Construction (Civil Engineering Key):
The turf must be laid over a precise multi-layer sub-base: Compacted Soil → Crushed Stone Graded Layer → Asphalt Concrete or Porous Concrete.
· Flatness Requirement: The height deviation must not exceed 3mm under any 3-meter straight edge.
· Drainage System (Lifeline for Outdoor Courts):
· Utilizes a slope drainage design (typically a 0.5% to 1% single or double slope) combined with perimeter catch basins/french drains.
· Alternatively, a Porous Concrete Base allows rainwater to infiltrate directly, enabling the court to resume play within 30 minutes after heavy rain.
2. Lighting System
· Night Lighting & Electrical Safety
· Illuminance Standards (Lux breakdown):
· Amateur/Community: 200 – 300 Lux (Uniformity U0 ≥ 0.5)
· Club/Commercial Tournaments: 300 – 500 Lux (Uniformity U0 ≥ 0.7)
· International TV Broadcast (FIP Standard): ≥ 750 Lux up to 1000 Lux (Uniformity U0 ≥ 0.8)
· Light Poles & Anti-Glare Design:
· Height: Typically 6 meters. Poles are either integrated into the court's structural framework or freestanding.
· Anti-Glare: Must use LED fixtures equipped with professional asymmetric distribution lenses. Light heads must face away from the players' overhead line of sight to prevent temporary blindness during overhead smashes.
· Anti-Reflection: Lighting angles are calculated via professional photometry software (e.g., Dialux) to eliminate blinding glares or double images on the glass walls.
3. Nets & Posts
Tournament-Standard Nets & Hardware
· Net Specifications: 10 meters in length with a mesh size under 4.5cm to prevent balls from passing through. The top must be bound with a high-strength white PVC band (5-7cm wide).
· Net Posts & Tensioning System:
· Material: Heavy-duty steel pipes or anodized aluminum alloy, treated with water-resistant and anti-sweat corrosion coatings.
· Internal Winch Tensioner: The tensioning mechanism must be embedded inside the post to prevent exposed steel cables from scratching players during intense out-of-bounds saves.
· Center Strap: Equipped with an adjustable center strap and a ground anchor point to keep the net height precisely at 88 cm at the center.
4. Auxiliary Facilities & Space Planning
Player Zones & Safety Channels
· Out-of-Court Play Area:
· According to the International Padel Federation (FIP) rules, if "out-of-court play" is allowed, there must be a flat safety buffer zone of at least 2m × 4m outside both side exits, completely clear of obstacles (including light poles) up to 2 meters high.
· Anti-Slip & Cushion Protection:
· High-density anti-slip rubber mats should be laid at player entry/exit doors and resting zones to prevent shoes coated in silica sand from slipping.
· Protective Padding: High-elasticity EVA foam safety sleeves must be installed on exposed steel framework edges, net posts, and glass connectors.
5. Spectator Area & Outdoor Roof Options
· Bleacher Configuration:
· We recommend installing Small Aluminum Bleachers next to the court. Aluminum structures are lightweight, corrosion-resistant, easy to assemble/relocate, and fireproof-making them perfect for high-end sports clubs.
· Bleachers are ideally placed along the long side of the court or behind the main glass wall. A tiered 2-row or multi-row elevated design ensures spectators get an optimal view right through the glass.
· Outdoor Roof Options (Choose by Budget & Architectural Style): To provide sun shading, rain protection, and elevate the playing experience, five premium roofing solutions can be added over the bleachers or the entire court:
1. PVC Canopy: Cost-effective and highly practical. Made of high-strength block-out or semi-translucent double-sided PVC coated fabric, offering excellent waterproof, anti-mildew, and flame-retardant properties.
2. PC Sheet Roof (Polycarbonate): Exceptional light transmission (comparable to glass), high impact resistance (protects against falling objects or stray balls), and UV blocking. It minimizes shadows on the bleachers while maintaining a bright, open feel.
3. Tensile Membrane Structure (PVDF/PTFE): The top choice for premium clubs. Features stunning, modern architectural aesthetics with massive spans that eliminate the need for obstructing center pillars. Offers self-cleaning capabilities and a lifespan exceeding 15 years.
4. Retractable Awning: Maximum flexibility. Can be retracted on sunny days to enjoy the open air, or extended manually/electronically during intense heat or sudden rainstorms.
5. Solar Roof (Photovoltaic Canopy): An eco-friendly, futuristic configuration. High-efficiency solar panels are installed on top of the canopy, providing shade and shelter while generating clean electricity to power the court's LED night lights, electronic scoreboards, or vending machines.
6. Accessories & Logistics
Court Markings & Consumables
· Line Marking: Line width is uniformly 5 cm. For artificial turf courts, white turf lines are pre-tufted directly into the green grass at the factory to prevent paint from peeling or fading over time.
· Ball & Racket Management:
· Padel Balls: Though they look like tennis balls, they have lower internal pressure (around 11-13 psi). Clubs should be equipped with automatic ball pumps or pressurized storage boxes to maintain ball life.
· Racket Racks: Dedicated storage racks should be placed in the player resting area to prevent carbon-fiber padel rackets from getting damaged on the ground.
